– The Polish Funeral Association
is
the
largest
and
oldest
funeral
association in Poland. It was founded
on May 19, 1998, originally as the
Polish Association of Crematorium and
Cemetery
Administrators.
This
year
the organization is celebrating its 25th
anniversary.
The association was founded by a group of
enthusiasts who believed that something better
could be done for the funeral industry in Poland.
It was led by the late Wojciech Krawczyk, who to
this day is referred to as the "architect of funeral
industry development in Poland”. Krzysztof
Krawczyk was the first president of the Polish
Association of Crematorium and Cemetery
Administrators, established in 1998, which is
now called the Polish Funeral Association. He
was also the founder and editor-in-chief of the
first opinion-forming industry monthly magazine
"Przegląd Funeralny" and later of the monthly
and bimonthly funeral magazine "MEMENTO"
now published by the association.
It was also on the initiative of Krzysztof Krawczyk
that the first funeral fair in Poland was created
– the 1st Funeral Fair "MEMENTO 2000". The
nationwide event was held on November 2000
in Czosnow near Warsaw. Eighteen domestic
and four foreign exhibitors took part, presenting
funeral equipment and accessories, as well as
cemetery technology devices. The exhibition was
